Michael J. Levitt, MD

Dr. Levitt received his undergraduate degree in Biology, summa cum laude, from The College of New Jersey in Ewing in the combined seven-year accelerated BS/MD program.  He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey- New Jersey Medical School in Newark.  He completed his medical internship and residency at University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson University in New Brunswick.   Dr. Levitt then completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) in New Brunswick.    As a fellow, he received the prestigious Melvin H. Motolinsky Research Foundation Award recognizing the most outstanding fellow.

Dr. Levitt has conducted extensive research in both basic science and clinical medicine, specializing in genitourinary oncology, leukemia & lymphoma, and clinical trial development.  He has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals and his research presented at multiple national clinical meetings.  He continues to have an active role in research and clinical trial enrollment for his patients. 

Dr. Levitt joined Atlantic Hematology Oncology Associates in 2008.  He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.  He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), and the American College of Physicians (ACP).  Since joining private practice, he has been a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Meridian Health Systems and member of the Blood Transfusion Committee of Ocean Medical Center (OMC).
